Apr. 30th, 2023 02:56 pmHad a warning this morning from the woman with the spaniel who plays with tennis balls on one of the playing fields, she says there's someone who's got an American bulldog who goes to this playing field usually in the evening and they are not keeping this dog under control, he's attacked 3 other dogs already. She said someone had to run and take shelter from this dog in a garden nearby but I'm not sure if she meant a dog or a person. I've never seen an American bulldog round here at all and we don't usually go round there in the evenings but knowing this now I hope really it stays that way and we don't encounter this dog ever. (And I definitely wonder if this is the same asshole dog owner who's letting their dog shit all over that field and never picks it up.)
I don't know which dogs got attacked, whether it's anyone we know or not. I hope none of them got badly hurt or traumatised but if there's been 3 attacks already and the asshole owner is doing nothing to control or train the dog it's probably only going to be a matter of time before a dog or even a person gets seriously hurt or perhaps even killed (especially when a lot of these dogs we see are small, much smaller than an American bulldog, plus there are busy roads nearby. If a dog ran the wrong way in a panic trying to escape this dog it could easily end up on one of the busy roads including a dual carriageway where it wouldn't stand a chance of surviving). I hope the owners of the dogs that have been attacked have reported these incidents to the police but I don't know. (Of course he's called Kaiser. I swear these dogs are always called either Kaiser or Tyson.)
I am tired of hearing about stupid asshole dog owners who don't train or control their dogs and I am tired of hearing about people and other dogs being killed and hurt by them. Almost any dog can kick off in the wrong circumstances and there are always going to be tragic accidents like where the dog's collar or lead breaks and it gets loose or where a bigger dog unexpectedly mistakes a little dog for a rabbit or something and kills it, but these are not all tragic accidents. Most of these incidents seem to be about people who deliberately get these big very strong bully types, dogs that are often dog-reactive, and at best they don't train them, they don't keep them under control, they don't respect their boundaries or teach their kids to respect the dog's boundaries (and at worst of course some of these assholes actually want the dogs to be aggressive, they are literally getting them as weapons or as some kind of ~thug~ status symbol essentially).
Also the fucking dog shit everywhere now (including where people have put the shit into a poo bag, and then just left the bagged up shit, which is even worse than just leaving the shit because now as well as the shit there's fucking shredded plastic everywhere too).
