rest in peace Mouse
Aug. 7th, 2023 12:41 amI was dreaming last night about cuddling the black cat named Mouse (yes really) we knew and who was friends with my dog but he also knew my old dog. In fact I think it was only the day before my old dog died, Mouse came over to us and though my old dog was totally blind then he still wagged his tail at Mouse.
Sadly I think Mouse died about 6 weeks ago. We've hardly ever seen his owner so haven't been able to confirm this but the last time we saw Mouse properly and he came over to us (me and my dog), I think he was full of cancer then. I said goodbye to him then thinking we would probably never see him again and sadly I was kind of right. I did see him a couple of times in the week after that but just lying in one of the neighbouring gardens asleep and he didn't seem to move much at all, didn't know we were there even I think, and then we didn't see him again after that. My dog still looks for him every time we go past his garden which is heart-breaking. Mouse was my dog's first friend too; my dog was scared of most other dogs when he was little but he made friends with Mouse when he was still a puppy.
Mouse wasn't even a cuddly cat though, he could be pretty cranky, so I don't know why I dreamt about cuddling him. But I miss the little guy too and I'm gutted he's apparently gone now too on top of several of the dogs we knew dying within the past couple of years (also several more seem to have vanished. I don't know what happened, whether a lot of them have moved away or whether some of those dogs have died too or have been rehomed or what but there are several of them we used to see quite regularly and then suddenly stopped seeing like a year, 18 months ago).
