I'm thinking that my primary reason for even considering writing any kind of original fic crossover thing with Moran and Moriarty in is still so I can have a universe where Moran can be attired in both Victorian three piece suits and possibly the occasional dress and dress in a modern punk-goth-rivethead kind of way within the same universe. (Moriarty though likely barely changes between eras, I think he's always going to very 'Victorian' in his appearance and mannerisms)
(24 Hours to Live is definitely the thing which has the closest thing to modern day Moran in it, at least aesthetically. Although up to a point the characters are weirdly similar. But there's that scene where his hair looks really dark, almost black, and it, well, it gave me Ideas.)
I'm also thinking the fact that Paul Anderson was in something that involved one of my favourite trains i.e. the Cursed Train itself, D326even though in the show it's actually a Class 37 pretending to be a Class 40 has got to be some sort of sign that I should include that train in my work (last time I rewatched The Great Train Robbery part 1 though my feelings about it could be summed up as "this does not have enough Paul Anderson or trains in it" (that is my criteria for an interesting TV show apparently) and I didn't even bother rewatching most of the second part because I give even less of a shit about that than I do about part 1).
Walking my dog this morning, suddenly something shot out at high speed from a garden, from behind a hedge, shot literally under my dog's chin, went in front of me, then across the road. It was one magpie chasing another magpie and I mean both flying, not walking, but they swooped so low they were barely off the ground. Usually if something (including birds) scares my dog he tries to bolt or he leaps up into the air or something but this time he just stopped and stood there kind of staring blankly for a bit. I think he was so startled by it his brain sort of turned off for a while and had to reboot itself before he could process what the fuck just happened.
