Welcome to my world. Aside from Midsomer Murders which ITV drag out so much it takes about 3 years to air just one series of it now there's been almost nothing I've wanted to watch (film or TV) in many, many years. The only new thing I've watched and liked was What We Do in the Shadows and even that I've not bothered to watch beyond series 2 because the fandom for it became so insufferable (with their obsessing over a pairing I don't like or give a shit about, the obsession with asserting the characters are all pan and shitting on bi in the process, even though they're literally both, and quite a few people who really love shitting on the film too) that it put me off watching the show any further.
I watched a couple of shows entirely for Jared Harris but frankly hated both of them (Carnival Row, which was terrible, and The Beast Must Die which was so fucking miserable it was unbearable too. Also in both of those he wasn't even in one of the episodes, I endured those episodes for absolutely nothing). And I basically watched the first two series of Peaky Blinders out of spite because I ended up having to buy the DVD and I was damned well going to watch it then having paid money for it but I absolutely hated it. Even Arthur who I expected to be more invested in I didn't care about because he was barely bloody in it and all he got to do was get beaten up or beat people up or be miserable.
I tried to watch Good Omens and Dirk Gently (the American one) and (as expected) hated them both so much I couldn't even get beyond the first couple of episodes of either of them. It's like every christmas for the past who knows how many years the only thing I have watched is Paul O'Grady's For the Love of Dogs and Midsomer Murders repeats. That is it (and now I won't even get For the Love of Dogs any more). There is nothing else that ever appeals to me. So these strikes will make not the slightest bit of difference to me.
