it's BBC Sherlock all over again

tiger_moranIt's always kind of funny I think when some of the fans of something get really obsessive about it, tend to almost completely ignore anything that's wrong with it, don't like any criticism of it or the creators, but then something happens to make them almost immediately turn completely against it and then they suddenly start listing things that apparently have been wrong with it for a long time after all.
People are doing this with Sherlock & Co. now. Something which I like but I have had big issues with all along, particularly with how they adapt certain characters, but when I've said anything about this I've largely been ignored completely while everyone else flails over how ~amazing~ and flawless it is or I've even had people taking my words and copy-pasting them sort of behind my back but in fact they still went and posted this in the tags where I would immediately see that, twisting them into something I didn't say and trying to make out I was connected with some of the obsessive 'johnlock' shippers who I've never had any connection with and essentially calling me a 'cop' for criticising the podcast/the creators, which was wild. But no now people are taking issue with a shoutout to a couple of Israelis and the apology for this still being proof of 'zionism' somehow and now people who formerly acted like it was practically perfect before are deciding basically that the whole podcast was actually 'problematic' all along.
